Bilateral Meeting between Japan-Malaysia in Chemical Management, 26 – 30 September 2016, Tokyo, Japan

A bilateral meeting between Japan-Malaysia in chemical management was held on 26-30 September 2016, Tokyo, Japan. A total number of 13 Malaysia delegates attended the meeting, comprising representatives from Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI)

- lead delegate, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (MDTCC), Ministry of Transport (MOT), Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Department of Environment (DOE), Department of Agriculture (DOA), Chemical Industry Council of Malaysia (CICM) and National University of Malaysia (UKM). The meeting was hosted by Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Issues discussed in the meeting include chemical regulations, status of GHS implementation, GHS classification support tools for industry, risk assessment and risk management, chemical database and notification system and cooperation with ASEAN countries.
